Even after two tough heat stages in the Swiss Alps, Maximilian Schachmann has a smile left for the international kids-tour Berlin, gives us a thumbs up and wishes good luck.

No doubt about it! If you know the original, you don't want a copy.

Schachi learned how to ride a bike and win in Berlin. Currently, Berlin's most successful road cyclist, Maximilian Schachmann, winner of the kids-tour 2008, is recovering from the exertions of the Tour de Swiss. Schachmann is not just anyone for the head of our organising team, Michael Lemke. He is his protégé. Schachi learned and trained for the longest time at MRC Marzahn.

Tour de Swiss 2022

Switzerland's most important cycling race, the Tour de Suisse, took place from 12 to 19 June 2022. It is considered a dress rehearsal for the Tour de France. The Berliner was among them. A winner of the kids-tour Berlin 2008. Maximilian Schachmann finished the Tour with a 10th place for his team BORA - hansgrohe. Max does not forget his roots.

In 2008, under the guidance of Michael Lemke, he won the International Kids Tour in the U15 age group. From the U19 age group onwards, Schachi was with SC Berlin and immediately became junior runner-up in the road race in 2011. After that, nothing could stop him. He turned professional.

I met Max at the SC Berlin offices. When I asked him what he wanted to do for a living: win the Tour de France. We keep our fingers crossed for Max. Anything is possible.
