kids-tour powered by M4Energy

Updated: Sep 2, 2023

#energy4kids. M4Energy supports the kids-tour 2022. The cooperative energy supplier from Dresden spontaneously agreed.

Every financial support helps organiser Lemke to offer the kids a worthy stage ride.

"The true friend is recognised in adversity". The very short preparation time for kids-tour welds all active participants and friends of the sport together.

"We can do more than just electricity and gas," says the energy cooperative M4Energy eG. It goes on to say: "Here we specifically help the voluntary commitment of clubs. Because top-class sport develops from popular sport. We promote the basic work for this". After my phone call yesterday with Maik Junker, the chairman of the board, it was clear that even if the entire shortfall could not be covered, the kids would be helped in any case. This promise comes unexpectedly and helps so much. Maik Junker and his board colleague Mirko Schlegel will also expand their commitment in cooperation with senderundempfaenger.de OHG. A very good and trusting signal for our work.

On behalf of all the children and sports leaders, on behalf of the entire organising team, the national league teams Wheel Divas e.V., Wheel Devils Cycling Team: THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Background: Almost everything this year did not go as planned at the beginning of the year. Lack of agreement, disputes, a blockade by the Berlin cycling federation (Berliner Radsportverband), economic intrigues threatened to push the kids to the wall. The traditional kids' tour was no longer to exist. The BRV appropriated the funds that had been available to the kids-tour for more than a decade. First, it applied for funding for the 28th kids-tour, even though it had never intended to organise the traditional event. This grant was earmarked for his own Youngster Race. And yes, we are happy about every new race. Who else but Michael Lemke, who has been the organiser and trainer for decades, sees the Youngster Race as an enrichment. The Youngster Race is not an alternative, not a replacement for the last remaining traditional race in Berlin.

After the decision of the Frankfurt Main Regional Court, we only have a few days to make preparations for our participants. The entire marketing, i.e. sponsor acquisition, crowd-funding, the acquisition of further donations, live-stream, photographers and so on - all this could not be done as expected. Even the loyal donors and small sponsors were therefore not contacted. The reason was that the BRV board deliberately blocked the invitation to tender. The organising team realised too late that the approval of a kids-tour was not wanted from the beginning. Sina Päske and Michael Lemke were led around by the nose. It would be a scoundrel to think of the BRV's own Youngster Race and then think evil of it.

Unexpectedly comes often, or as my grandmother used to say: Luck is with the brave. Now Maik Junker said yes to the tour, yes to the children, despite and precisely because of the previous history.

The shortfall is getting smaller. And that is a good thing. Every contribution helps the kids. It would be nice if you could also make a contribution. It's easy to do via Paypal.

Subject: kids-tour 2022.

Many thanks to the team from M4Energy e.G from Dresden.
